Barry Dobbs joined the Office of Strategic Consulting as a senior project manager, bringing over 20 years of project management experience. Prior to joining UW, Barry worked for a wide range of companies with anywhere from 20 to 160,000 employees. He started as a computer programmer and quickly moved up in information technology and eventually into project management. He has worked as a project manager, program manager, and portfolio manager managing a variety of projects, including multimillion dollar medical device and process improvement projects with NorthStar Medical RadioIsotopes, large infrastructure and trade compliance projects with Dell, and web development and SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) projects with IBM.
From 2019 to 2023, Barry served as the project manager for the Universities of Wisconsin Procure-to-Pay Automation project, overseeing the implementation of Jaggaer across all UW Universities to streamline procurement operations. He later served as the project manager supporting the Enterprise Analytics Platform and Workday Reporting groups as part of the universities’ $212 million Administrative Transformation Program and Workday enterprise resource planning implementation.
Barry has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an MBA with concentrations in management information systems and finance . He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, and Certified Cognitive Project Manager in Artificial Intelligence (CPMAI).
