Jim Gray has been with UW–Madison since April 2008, when he started as a training coordinator in the Office of Human Resources. Prior to joining the former Office of Quality Improvement (OQI) in January 2012, he was also director of marketing and communications for the Division of Continuing Studies at UW–Madison. In this role, he managed and supported a staff of 15 individuals providing comprehensive marketing services.
As a 20+ year consultant and adviser, Jim also works with a variety of private and public organizations providing guidance and expertise in the areas of strategic planning, strategic culture change, leadership/management development, and creating enduring and inclusive work cultures. His clients have included Alliant Energy, American Family Insurance, General Casualty Insurance, Johnson Controls, M&I Data, Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, and Pepsi-Cola of Madison. As a past adjunct consultant with Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, he has helped implement diversity and inclusion initiatives in Burger King, DuPont, Freddie Mac, Hartford Insurance Group, Kodak, Kimberly-Clark Mobil Films, Mobil Oil, Norwest Bank, United Airlines, and Toyota.
